How on Earth Do I Read The Bible Using Bible Studies!?!?

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend! Last week was my hubby's birthday and we celebrated it over a few days so I'm pooped! But thank God for rest and cooler temps in sight for Dallas!

Last week I posted tips on reading plans that will help you get into the Word daily. Let me know if you've tried any of them and how they worked for you! I'd love to hear the difference you've seen in your mood and time with Jesus as you dig into the Word, so don't be shy, reach out to me because I'd love to cheer you on!

Today on the blog I'm going to talk about how to use bible studies to help you dig deeper into the Word. When I first got saved I thought that bible studies were only meetings you attended at your church and the leader just made up all the questions. I had no idea that I could go to my local Christian book store and buy these for myself and do them in my own home... Like what!? Game changer! (I was a bit naive...Ha!) I did my first bible study my senior year of high school and it was a complete 360 in the way I read my Word and even how I looked at my quiet time with Jesus. I no longer felt like reading the Word was something to check off my to do list, it became a necessity and deep desire in my life. I longed and hungered for more of the Word daily. Since that first bible study I've done many more and I'd love to share them with you. Here are just a few!

Bible Studies on Chapters of the Bible

These studies are great if you are desiring to go deeper in the Word. These studies will break down these chapters and really help you digest them. They also give you the back stories on why this book was important in the time it was written and how to apply it to your life now, 2000+ years later! So here are a few I've loved from authors I trust!

Hosea by Jennifer Rothschild

Esther by Beth Moore

Hebrews by Lisa Harper

Topical Bible Studies

These studies are all about a certain topic be it freedom, your identity in Christ, healing, courage, characters of God... etc. These studies are great when you are seeking breakthrough in a certain area of your life. They are usually full of verses and chapters that combat that stronghold in your life. So if you do a study on being free it will daily help you dig through the Word to find verses that speak of the freedom you have in Jesus. Their are so many topical studies out there, but these are a few of my favorites.

A Woman Who Doesn't Quit by Nicki Koziarz (This is my favorite one I've done!)

Living Free by Beth Moore

Steadfast Love by Lauren Chandler

General Bible Studies

These studies are ones that are over the bible in general. They don't necessarily have a certain topic or book of the bible they stick to. These studies are just about how to get into reading the Word and challenge you to go deeper in your walk with the Lord. This is the kind of bible study that completely changed the way I read the Word and how I began to understand why it was important for me to read daily and not make it a chore!

Open Your Bible by Raechel Meyers and Amanda Bible Williams

Godly Character by Vinnie Carafano (This is the one I read in High School. Such an amazing study!)

Now obviously these are just a few bible studies, but a great selection to begin with! For more studies visit Lifeway. (This is where I get all my bible studies!) I pray these posts on how to read the Word are helping you. Make sure to check back in next Tuesday as I talk about apps you should download to read the Word on the go. These apps are game changers especially if you travel often or if you have a long commute to work! Can't wait to continue to grow in our walk with the Lord together!
